Can Spotify actually take away my premium if I stop paying them?

I canceled all my debit and credit cards to get off the grid and now the Spotify app is saying they will take away my premium if I don’t update my payment info. Is this legal?

Quick question: if you're trying to get off the grid, why are you still leaving a digital foot print by using Social Media and logging into online services like Spotify ?

It is legal, yes. On Spotify, you must pay for the premium service. They can and will remove your access to Spotify Premium if they cease receiving payments from you.

So if you buy food at a grocery store "for a while" then after that you should be able to come back and get it for free?

If you've been paying for gas "for a while" should you be able to come and keep filling up for free?

How about if your employer decides you should keep working for them for free because they've paid you loyally "for a while?

Spotify has to pay the labels/producers for permission to stream the music. They can pay them either by charging you money, or by getting money from advertisers that pay them to play you ads between tracks. Your choice.

Well, you're not a loyal customer anymore if you break the agreement of the exchange of a payment for a service.

Not really, nothing comes free in life.

Yes, of course they can. Why would they continue your subscription for free?

Make your own music. Or pay someone else to make/play it for you.

Do you make things for free for other people? Or do you think your time, knowledge, and materials are worth something?

I can't tell if you're a troll or really this childish.

Maybe there are off-the grid cover bands?
