How to be anti work as a doctor?

I’m a neurosurgeon who has recently started browsing this sub and I have become a real “anti-work-head.” But I feel as though in my profession, it is very hard to quiet quit without feeling tremendous guilt, because my work determines the health and lives of my many patients. I am trying to resist in less serious and non-negligent ways, but there are not many. Yesterday I didn’t clean the microwave after my tomato soup exploded all over the inside, and I stuffed a few tissues up the nozzle of the staffroom coffee maker. I’m pretty ashamed of doing that, especially after I realized I was just causing mild inconveniences mainly for lower hospital staff that had to clean up the mess. Regardless, I’m at a loss trying to think of ways to bring the antiwork movement into my hospital. Are there any doctors that are part of the movement who have found success in this regard? Or does anyone have any ideas of what i could do? I’m supposed to be prepping for surgery right now but am on the toilet typing this up, I suppose that’s a start…

Sounds like you are putting lives at risk and being a nuisance to people who are lower than you in the hospital hierarchy. This reads like you don’t want to be a neurosurgeon, so maybe think about quitting. Otherwise take it seriously. Look for ways to help those that have to deal with crap like doctors breaking the coffee machine and walking away. I hope this is a troll.

On the slight off chance that you're not a troll, maybe focus on treating your nursing staff better. I hear a lot of stories about doctors being complete assholes to their support staff.
