Wanted to use the vending machine, the “attendant” took my card and did it for me, then asked for a 25% tip

Welcome to r/LateStageCapitalism

This subreddit is for news, discussion, memes, and links criticizing capitalism and advancing viewpoints that challenge liberal capitalist ideology. That means any support for any liberal capitalist political party (like the Democrats) is strictly prohibited.

LSC is run by communists. This subreddit is not the place to debate socialism. We allow good-faith questions and education but are not a 101 sub; please take 101-style questions elsewhere.

We have a zero-tolerance policy for bigotry. Failure to respect the rules of the subreddit may result in a ban.

It's pretty sad that we're fighting each other when we should be aiming all this hate for those who deserve and cause it...

Honestly this is the logical endgame for tipping culture. Everything that faces a customer will have a tipping option so corporations can continue to cut wages and expect consumers to subsidize all wages.

The beautiful irony when boomers shriek about having to possibly contribute to "socialism", then turn around and give their money to the Walton Kids.

It's starting to bleed into positions that aren't even customer facing. They're just trying to get the customer to pay their employees instead of them. Honestly the worst part is not knowing which companies pocket their employees tip money.
