They said that dog is "mans' best friend" but they sure seem to do like women a lot more much.
EDIT: My wife left me and I got the dog but now its depressed and only was happy when she stopped by to pick up some things last week

A lot of dogs I’ve fostered unfortunately growled at any men they met mostly because they had been abused by men, so in some ways you might be right.
As for your dog and your marriage I’m sorry. Your dog might need some time to adjust, and probably also misses your wife. Over time though I’m sure you can make him happy again, just try and bond with him a bit?
