Girls of Reddit, when you tell a guy "I'm not looking for anything right now" after you get asked out, how long should be waited till ask again?

You literally just don't - you move on and find someone who is.

Though having read your replies and assuming you aren't a troll, some of your attitudes towards this person and women in general are a bit misguided. She likely has zero interest in you beyond study purposes, and she isn't using you either - she asked for help, and you gave her help. That's all she sees you as; a 'study buddy'.

If you are a troll, then I think you're a funny one and your impression of a 'nice guy' is spot on!

In all honesty, don't ask again.

"I'm not looking for anything right now." could mean a few things, from "I just broke up and I'm not ready to date again," to "I don't want to date you, specifically, but I don't want to insult you to your face."

Either way, asking repeatedly just fucks with your self esteem and starts getting into creepy territory to her. If she decides she wants to date you in the future, she can make the move to let you know. And you may well have moved on by then - which will be her loss.

Don’t ask again. Whenever I’ve used that line it’s my way of telling someone who I might like to be a friend that it’s a no.

The ONLY exception is if down the line she gives very very very obvious hints that she’s interested and there’s no way they could be anything else. However I’ve never personally done that.
