Starting your post with "Don't get me wrong" makes me want to gag.
Don't get me wrong, I love this sub, but sometimes there is sometimes just too many of these types of post. Just stand by your own word, you don't need to clarify anything. Just say what you want to fucking say and be done with it. GDI this one frustrates me.

Not OP, nor am I claiming to be an authority on this subject (though to be honest my experience does qualify me to answer, at least in my own opinion {which should not be taken to reflect the views of my family-- for their opinion, you should as them}, and the fact that everyone, including myself, is entitled to his or her (or whatever pronouns a person identifies with) opinion) and it should be noted that this happened not today, even though the name of this subreddit implies that it was today, but allow me to try my best to answer your question, if I may:
