I wonder if it has anything to do with IQ

Mapping old rule sets to new problems and teachers not understanding or wanting you to do it the way they understand so that grading the work is easier

Or it could be lack of engagement for the individual leading to exploratory behavior that is often times seen as inappropriate or not conducive to learning environments
