Most sandwiches would taste better without the bread but we need a handle to hold the innards.

That’s because you’re making them with the wrong bread

That’s why you have plates and cutlery...

I disagree completely, the bread makes the sandwich 👌

I've never heard sandwich fillings called 'innards' before. Made me wince a bit.

Depending on the sandwich, but I mostly agree.

Like, a waygu beef sandwich of a Nashville hot chicken sandwich should focus on the meat, hence why they serve that white bread with it.

But a piece of ham, tomato and lettuce can be infinitely better when put on a nice ciabatta or brioche bun. A piece of chicken on a crusty baguette is top notch.

For classics like PB&J or grilled cheese, white bread is good too.

The best way to go though, is just to make the sammich in your mouth. Simply take a bite of whatever ingredients you want.

Bite of cheese, bite of meat bite of bread then a bite of pickle or tomato. You can mix it up and every bite is a new adventure

Sometimes when I make a sandwich, if it is ham/cheese or something that is removable, I take it out and eat that first and then after, enjoy the bread and butter by itself. I know I'm weird.

Yeah the real problems start when you have mayonnaise but who the hell wants a dry, sauce-free sammey .
