Did a ama on casualama and they recommended I post here. Ask me anything!
From that Ama, on why I changed my name:
"At the time, I was living in Slovakian Scholastic Commune. The cohorts were alphabetized and there were 41 people in my commune with names with at least 2 a's in front. The longest was Aaaaaawencelclovynski.
This meant that at dinner time, I had to wait at least 30 minutes to eat, since people were called up alphabetically. Well, I got sick of it. I asked the dining director if there was any way I could get my food earlier, but he said rules are rules. So I changed my name. That's the kind of guy I am.
Could have changed it back, but I think it's funnier this way, plus I always get to go first in alphabetized settings."

I did in the beginning. Now I've got my print name down to a rhythm.
I usually opt for a signature, though. Much easier.

Still Adams. I kept the pronunciation the same

Yeah...still gonna want to hear that.

As SysInt highlights, it seems to only have been a benefit so far

If I was still in the commune, you know I would.

Is your original surname "Adams" a traditional Slovak name? What's your background?
Also...what is "Slovakian Scholastic Commune"? Googling for that brings up your AMA as the first hit. Is it a private boarding school I guess?

I'm not from Slovakia. I'm actually Polish on my mom's side, but my dad is an American. SSC is a Eastern European commune for mainly for people who graduated high school and are taking a gap year before college. The closest comparison would be a monastery, though it is areligious.

I know the definition of areligous.... I just mean the primary purpose of a Monastery is for religious retreat and mediation.... so the concept of an areligous monastery is somewhat perplexing to me.

It's just like a Hamas training camp, but without all the radicalism.

This isn't helping....

That sucks if you end up in the same room who’s African

Liked the commune a bit too much besides the dining situation

Was there a reason for 28 rather than 25 or 30?

You really should sign it this way as /u/MasterScrewdriver suggested.
2
But it isn't to the 24th power, it's multiplied by 24. (24*A)dams.
3
Naw, 24th power. The A's multiply by each other, not add. Most accurately, though, it would be Aa28dms
2
Ah... Right. Should be like Jerrick Ae24dams

It was more of a "fuck you" to the director rather than a pragmatic choice.

Mainly the situation in the OP

Wasn’t all of that answered in the OP?

The idea just came to me. There are 28 a's. I didn't really care about things like length of last name or whatever, since i was in a commune and there was no legal paperwork to fill out. Now it's only a minor inconvenience at best
