Hey, I'm one of the guys who writes the exam. Can't give my name obviously, but I thought I'd give out some advice on the 2020-2022 exams, specifically how to "beat" the exam.
Don't forget your calculator! There are usually 2 or 3 gimme questions like "What is the square of the titrated version of 4.1 mlg of NO2Ti2?"
Don't waste too much time on the true or false section. Each question is worth .01% of the exam grade. Even if you get none of them right, that would only drop your score by half a point.
Don't forget to address the 6 A's on written responses: Analysis, Anatomy, Amplitude, Author's Statement, Anchor, and Atoms.
One thing graders hate to see on the fill-in-the-blank section is misspellings. Remember, 'Meiosis' had one e, not two.
If you finish early, write a note thanking the grader for taking the time to score your test. Remember, they're humans too. Whether or not they give you extra credit for your kindness, it's still a nice thing to do.
Hope this helps! Happy to answer any more questions in the comments.
