The Strange Case of Dr. Z. Kellington, Last Seen in 1995 in The Sears Tower Lobby Doing a Crab Walk

Content Warning: Scary, Ghosts?

In 1995 Dr. Z. Killington was reported missing by his wife. Apparently, he left for work at 9am and never came home. The police searched for 3 months before officially presuming him dead, so his wife hired a P.I. And he managed to find footage of the last known location of Killington: In Chicago's Sears Tower, doing a crab walk before being thrown out by security. This wasn't just weird in and of itself: what also didn't add up was that the Doctor lived in Los Alamos, nowhere near Chicago.

After watching the footage a hundred times, the P.I. noticed something: Killington's crabwalk seemed to be a distraction for another unidentified man, who slipped past security and entered the building's employee only elevator at the moment of the elevator.

The P.I. spent months in vain trying to find the man in the video. He almost gave up the case, but them he got a letter from one of the Doctor's final patients. The sender apparently knew the man in the video. The Doctor drove down to Los Alamos to meet the mystery writer, only to find out such a man never existed.

Losing all leads, the P.I. got desperate, so he flew to Chicago to recreate the scene. He entered the Sears Tower, and began to do a crabwalk. When building security saw him, they dragged him out of the building and threw him out. He tripped on his shoelace and was decapitated by an oncoming bus.

This is where it gets very interesting. The wife, hearing the news of the P.I.'s death, was devastated, for she had fallen in love with him, and now she had lost two men she adored, and both right after they did the crabwalk in the Sears Tower.

She got desperate and got an apartment in Chicago, abandoning her 4 year old, and started searching for answers. She stood in front of the Sears Tower everyday for 3 months, asking if anyone knew why someone would do a crab walk in the Sears Tower lobby. Finally, a man (known only as Mr. Y) had some info. He allowed her to follow him into the employee elevator and up to the 99th floor, where she met the man in the video!

As it turned out, the man was a legitimate employee and was not using Dr. Z as a distraction. Instead, Dr. Z had recently joined a Chicago improv group, and one of the initiation rituals was to do the crab walk in the Sears Tower Lobby. Here, the trail goes cold. The wife is never heard of again, and nothing is really explained: Why was Dr. Z joining an improv group in a city hundreds of miles away from his home? Who was Mr. Y? Were ghosts involved?
