Seriously. No one would come to that conclusion about a successful athlete.

Not really true.
There's no way to measure the impact certain events or situations have on a person's future, so it's impossible to say, for all we know he still would have went on to do all the same accomplishments.

Did he really? I thought he came from a middle class family

Nah, he had a million dollars in his savings account before he could walk. People like to tout him as a rags to riches story but he's really a riches to bigger riches story.

You know you're rich when you consider a family that can open a million dollar savings account for their kid "upper middle class".

Savings accounts, sure. Hell, my kids have two each. But million dollar savings accounts, no.

Yeah, not how that works. An abuser doesn't get to take credit for someone's success because they made that person's life miserable. I'm worried OP, because this is indoctrinated thinking of the sort that usually comes from generations of abuse. Iwant you to know that you don't have to fight or struggle, it's not "just part of life" unless someone is making it part of your life.
No one has to put you down in the name of "forcing" you to work harder or persevere. Living and growing as a person isn't supposed to have some sort of sadistic boss-fight dynamic where you only win if you defeat the monsters. People succeed regardless of their abuse and trauma not because of it. No one should believe that bad things have to happen to them in order to deserve their accomplishments.

Dude fuck you, that shit ruined millions of peoples childhoods most of whom won't see anything for it, just painful memories and hard times being social.
How dare you suggest it's a good thing

He was bullied at private schools. It's a classier form of bullying that builds more character.

Sometimes you have to suffer a little in your youth To motivate yourself, to succeed in later life
Do you think if Bill Gates got laid in high school Do you think there'd be a Microsoft? Of course not

Same goes for Jeffrey Dahmer
“Many of his later murders involved necrophilia,[1] cannibalism, and the permanent preservation of body parts”
