Based on the life of Walter Tevis and his rise and fall in the chess world… while the character was made female, the sex, drugs and behind the scenes of the chess world are true (as also written and immortalized in other dramas).

The inscription translates roughly to (forgive me, my linguistic skills are rusty): “I am whoever you say I am. If I wasn’t, then why would you say I am?” This is a lyric from a song by the rapper Eminem. Do you really count having sex with an Eminem stan as worthy of qualifying for virginity loss? Because I do not. If anything, it makes you more of a virgin than before the sex.
