There should be a violence free mode

I'm thinking of the games I want my kids to play, and Minecraft is one of them. The only problem is, Minecraft requires you to kill things and have mobs attack you, and I don't want my child to be exposed to such violence at an early age. I already know someone is going to say "but there's peaceful mode." No, peaceful mode won't cut it. Because then, my child will learn that life has no dangers, which is blatantly untrue. There should be a violence-free mode where there are no animals to kill, no mobs to fight, while still having the same stress-factors as Minecraft,

But those stress factors you're talking about is given by mobs. You say it's not peaceful mode but then describe peaceful mode hahaha

Too bad. Thats life. Life is violence and not censored. Coddling your kids is how we have a whole generation who think being sad that day is a mental disease. Fucking pathetic parenting.

Coming from someone who is

-A geometry teacher (and an asshole one at that! "Grade tax," really?)

-An owner of a mutimillion dollar business

-6'3", 190 pounds of pure muscle

-Knows pretty much every bouncer

-5'6", acne-ridden with extreme social anxiety

-Thinks 99% of chess players are "such dorks"

-Has "literally never met a rich person who isn't arrogant, even if they hide it"

And that's just the first five pages.

Your child won't learn that life has no dangers simply from playing a relaxing game. They will only apply the lessons so erroneously to their life if they're overexposed to it and it begins to replace reality in their psyche. Which would take a lot of damn exposure.

I’m not sure what you classify as a ‘young age’ but if you are comfortable with them playing any video games kids are very good at differentiating between what happens in games vs real life. You’re either looking for peaceful mode or creative mode no one who creates mods for minecraft would bother creating exactly what you describe as it’s already covered by those

So… you want to baby your child and let them play Minecraft, but strip most of the value from it? Minecraft is relatively clean for a videogame. everything just goes poof. how old IS your kid? Because if you think they’re too young for the minimally violent parts of Minecraft, why the hell are you letting them play at all? Would they have the CAPABILITY to play? Would it be INTERESTING for them? You do realize you’re stripping it down to survival via plant farms, right? Its eithier Survival mode, or Creative mode. Creative is your violence free mode. Survival is your danger mode. You can’t have both.
