Why do negative numbers make me emotional?
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve noticed I have a certain emotional sensitivity when thinking about the concept of negative numbers. Something about them makes me feel sad or remorseful. I would often cry doing my math homework after the sixth grade, and not because I don’t get the concept or I’m bad at math. They just make me so sad. Why?

This probably is something you should ask a therapist, not something that can be answered on Reddit. This is a very specific and very odd response to something seemingly detached altogether from anything regarding emotional whatsoever.

Considering the extreme emotional response the most likely culprit could be blocked trauma but I honestly cannot think of a scenario where that would be involved. Best to speak to a therapist.
